This notice summarises the key risks of trading foreign exchange, metals, indices, CFDs, and crypto assets through a broker account connected to the Metafix terminal. Metafix is a software provider: we are not a broker, dealer, or investment adviser, we do not hold client funds, and all trades are executed by the broker whose account you connect. This notice cannot describe every risk of trading; before you trade, make sure you understand the instruments involved and how your broker operates.
Trading leveraged financial products carries a high level of risk to your capital and is not suitable for all investors. You could lose some or all of your invested capital, and you should never trade with money you cannot afford to lose. Before trading, consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and appetite for risk, and seek advice from an independent financial adviser if you have any doubts.
Leverage magnifies both profits and losses: a small movement in the market can have a proportionally much larger impact on your account. Depending on your broker's terms, losses may exceed your initial deposit. If your account no longer meets margin requirements, your broker may issue a margin call or automatically close some or all of your open positions — potentially at a loss and without prior notice to you.
Prices can move sharply and rapidly in response to news, economic releases, and changes in liquidity — including outside normal market hours. Markets can "gap", meaning prices jump from one level to another without trading in between. In fast or illiquid markets your orders, including stop-loss orders, may be executed at a materially worse price than requested. A stop-loss limits losses in most conditions but is not a guarantee.
Foreign exchange and CFDs are complex, typically over-the-counter instruments — you do not own the underlying asset. Crypto assets are exceptionally volatile, trade around the clock, and may be subject to limited or no regulatory protection in your jurisdiction. Precious metals and index products are exposed to macroeconomic shocks, central-bank policy, and geopolitical events. Understand each instrument before trading it.
Automated strategies — including MetaTrader Expert Advisors, TradingView alerts, and custom API bots — place trades without asking you first. Software defects, faulty strategy logic, unexpected market conditions, or connectivity failures can generate substantial losses in a short time. Backtested or historical strategy performance does not guarantee future results. Broker-enforced risk limits (such as exposure caps and drawdown auto-stops) reduce but do not eliminate these risks. You remain responsible for monitoring any bot connected to your account and for stopping it when appropriate.
Trading through a mobile terminal depends on your device, your internet connection, our software, and your broker's systems. Any of these can fail, be interrupted, or be delayed, which may prevent you from placing, modifying, or closing orders, or cause market data to be delayed or unavailable. Keep an alternative way of reaching your broker for emergencies.
Demo accounts operate in a simulated environment with virtual funds. Execution speed, spreads, slippage, liquidity, and — importantly — trading psychology differ on live accounts. Results achieved on a demo account are not indicative of the results you may achieve trading real money.
Your trading account is held by, and all orders are executed through, your broker under its own terms of business and regulatory framework. Spreads, commissions, swap charges, and other costs are set by your broker and reduce your returns. The regulatory protections available to you — including any compensation or dispute-resolution schemes — depend on your broker and your jurisdiction, not on Metafix.
